1978 Marshall Master Model 50W Mk II Lead JMP Head – USA Export – Serviced
For players chasing the unmistakable sound of late-'70s Marshall, this 1978 Master Model 50 Watt Mk II Lead delivers everything you'd hope for from a great JMP. Built in England for the U.S. market and loaded with 6550 power tubes, this amp offers the punch, clarity, and authority that helped define countless classic rock and hard rock recordings.
Recently serviced and wired back to stock specifications, this example is ready to be played and enjoyed. It retains its vintage character while benefiting from professional maintenance, including replacement of select filter capacitors as needed.
Cosmetically, the amp shows honest signs of use accumulated over nearly five decades. The tolex has a few nicks and scuffs, the rear panel is missing (as is often the case with vintage JMP heads), and the previous owner applied a Ramones sticker to the front panel. Fortunately, it's a cool sticker—and one we're not inclined to remove.
Most importantly, this amplifier sounds phenomenal. Rich harmonic content, articulate mids, tight low end, and the unmistakable roar that made the JMP one of the most sought-after vintage Marshalls on the market today.
