This is a really cool and unique T-style guitar, assembled by Randy Parsons — the same luthier known for building some of Jack White’s most iconic custom instruments. Randy personally signed this guitar and marked it #1, and the story goes that it was put together alongside a guitar he built for Jack, which was marked #3.
The guitar definitely carries that Jack White vibe, with spray-painted white hardware, Lollar pickups, a chunky maple neck, and a Daphne Blue finish. The bridge plate is even notched in the back — a detail Parsons also used on Jack’s builds. The hardware isn’t powder-coated like Jack’s, but was spray painted by Parsons himself, adding to the handmade feel.
Condition wise this guitar is in overall great shape. Light surface wear and slight signs of play, a small ding on headstock by the by the string tree very minor with no structural implications only a light cosmetic flaw.
It is important to note that the Daphne Blue like any opaque blue finish likes to change its hue under different light. As you can see in the photos the body looks a paler or deeper blue, sometimes even turquoise depending on the photo angle.
We reached out to Randy directly, and here’s what he had to say:
“So, what this is; I purchased a bunch of Allparts bodies and necks. People could come in and piece their own guitar together, and I would assemble it. Steve picked out the neck and body and then requested I do a JW Tele-style with the hardware, which I did.
The bridge pickup plate was notched in the rear with a band saw, just like I did Jack’s. Jack’s hardware was powder coated flat white. I believe I spray painted these.”
We're not asking a premium for the story — we just think it’s a great-playing, great-looking guitar with a cool bit of history behind it. If you're into Jack White's style or just want something a little different with a legit backstory, this might be the one.
